Garth Villas
Garth Villas opened at the beginning of February 2003 and to date has had 120 referrals from various agencies e.g. Probation/Social Services/Homeless Department etc. It is a partnership between:
- Merthyr Tydfil Housing Association (who provide the building)
- Adref Ltd. (providing support to residents)
- The National Assembly for Wales/Council (providing funding)

- Secure Environment
- Individual rooms for up to ten residents
- Shared bathrooms/showers
- Shared living room
- Shared kitchen
- Shared laundry room
- 24 hour waking cover (6 staff +security) CCTV Security Resident Key-work system
- Individual support plans
- High Levels of support where needed
- Referrals to other agencies where appropriate
- Assistance in securing permanent accommodation
- Resettlement Support (L.A.T.S.S.)
- Referrals
Residents each receive a support plan that is suitable for their needs
Residents meet up with their key workers at least once a week to address any issues they may have. These may include:
Money management, health, substance misuse, gambling, domestic skills
- To enable the individual to reach a point where they can live in the community independently.
- To address issues which have resulted in them being in their present circumstances.
- For our clients to successfully hold down a tenancy and budget adequately in order to become self sufficient
- To encourage residents to take up opportunities available to the wider community from which they have previously been excluded.
